THIS WEEKEND WE watched two films: Knives Out (Rian Johnson, 2019) and Marriage Story (Noah Baumbach, 2019) and both were really good. Knives Out was fast-paced and funny and great fun to try to figure out, while Marriage Story was deeply moving and heartbreaking and made me cry several times. But it also made me happy to still be in love with the same person after all this time, and to appreciate what we have more and to try to never, ever take it for granted. There is nothing like watching two people who still love each other go through a grueling divorce to make one feel really lucky to not have to endure the same fate. Things are finally beginning to feel festive around here and already we’re planning for cosy nights with drinks by the fire, shortbread cookies and too much chocolate and spending time together. Hope you had a beautiful weekend and are looking forward to the holidays as well.
This week’s links include how to spend a weekend in Vienna and emerald dresses for holiday soirées; a recipe for baked goat’s cheese wrapped in walnut pastry with fig relish, a Manhattan pied-à-terre and much, much more.
