Located in the 8th arrondissement, near Parc Monceau, the 19th century apartment, on Boulevard Malesherbes, has large rooms, soaring ceilings, French windows, crown moulding and original boiserie. In fact, a great amount of care was taken to retain the original woodwork and paneling throughout the space during the renovation. This beautiful architecture is the perfect backdrop for the modern furniture pieces, most of which were designed by the, with a few second-hand items with past lives mixed in for good measure. Living materials such as brushed wood, stone, marble, linen and natural fibres abound.
The couple, who run the architecture and design practice Gilles & Boissier, who are said to have once been mentored by Philippe Starck and Christian Liaigre, have completed work around the world and also have their own bespoke furniture and lighting collection.
