OUR LIVING ROOM in the English countryside has those charming wood ceiling beams that you would expect in a cottage in the countryside. And since moving here, my décor tastes have moved, understandably, in the direction of farmhouse and countryside styles. Roaring open fireplaces, rustic wooden beams, a neutral colour palette—these are all the things have been finding myself drawn to lately. And so, here is an inspiration board of these things, sometimes set off by soft, timeworn linens, a sparkling chandelier or two, seagrass rugs and copper pans, warm wooded furniture and wicker and rattan and always, that sense of relaxed cosiness that one can only get in the countryside…
