We’ve had the fortune of visiting the Scottish Highlands many times, and but it has been a while now, since we were living in Spain for the past three and a half years. Happening across Danja’s Instagram page (@merlins_mind) made the absolute majesty of this incredible place come rushing back. An outdoor, photography, bicycle and kayak enthusiast (among other things), Danja’s photo stream reads like the pages of a fairytale. Stags sit amongst castle ruins, there are dramatic waterfalls at the base of green mountains and shockingly steep cliff faces; freshly fallen snow sits powdery and new on castle gates; sheep roam the roads and magical white horses run wild in the plains. And so, from Luskentyre Beach to Lossiemouth, from the white horses of Torridon and the waterfalls at Assynt, here are a few of our favourite shots…
