As you probably already know, I have many favourite places in Paris. I think the atmosphere and the space itself (I am a lover of spaces) is not all one needs to fall in love with a place. There are stories and the people you often see here that make a place unforgettable. Cette pensé leads me to a lovely place on the inspiring Rue de Faubourg Saint Honore. There is a little bookstore (the name of which I prefer to keep anonymous) that I visit from time to time; the owner is such an incredible person: I’ve never heard anyone talking about books and writers — and all beautiful things — with so much love. So he is the person who introduced me into the world of Fritz von der Schulenburg’s work, much to my delight, for photography and interior decoration being the two biggest passions of mine.

Through his 35-year career as a photographer, Fritz von der Schulenburg had the opportunity to see castles, palaces, private manoirs, ravishing country houses and beachside villas — some of the most spectacular places around the world. He was able to capture perfect sunlight in an instant, but also able to wait as long as it takes.

von der Schulenburg has contributed to the world and is known internationally through many glossy magazines over the years. As the story goes, “There was a time during the early years of The World of Interiors magazine when Fritz would have so many stories in a single issue that the magazine was nicknamed ‘Fritzteriors’”.
