01-At Home With | Designer Wendy Labrum, Chicago-This Is Glamorous

THIS WEEK’S At Home With features the Parisian-inspired Chicago home of Francophile designer Wendy Labrum. A medley of velvet chairs and Calacatta marble, lavender cotton-sateen and black-and-white-striped silk intermingled with antique Maison Baguès floor lamps, a vintage Louis Philippe mirror and modernist Lucite-and-brass coffee table, not to mention the stunning wallpaper throughout, gilded accents and silver-leafing — it is filled with glamorous romance. Click through for a glimpse . . .

  • I like the pastels. The other details are bold enough that the pastels don’t look too sweet; they just look like ghosts of color.
I don’t get the chairs in the bedroom. They don’t look comfy for reading, and I can’t imagine a tête-à-tête at the foot of my bed with someone, even my husband. I’d rather have the open space for yoga or Pilates….it’s just enough.
