HIDDEN AWAY on the border of Umbria and Tuscany in central Italy lies this beautiful rustic home. A special 12-month project that brought Milan-based interior designer, Eric Egan, to this 17th century farmhouse, to bring it back to former glory with handpainted murals, vintage fabrics and antique hardware.
Egan, who previously worked on grand hotels such as the Venician Gritti Palace, applied his trademark microscopic attention to detail to this vacation spot with custom designed fabrics and organic stone & marble trimmings.
A modern oasis with garden statues from Amsterdam, a brick-lined courtyard and a charming bird & botanic mural to walk through, there is plenty of pieces inside that will get us dreaming about adding to our own homes.
And if that weren’t enough, guests can also enjoy a ride on the 12 mountain bikes provided to explore the surrounding green hills outside. —Anita
