ARIEL OKIN seems to be everywhere lately. Before founding Ariel Okin Interiors, she was a premier designer with New York-based interior design firm Homepolish.
This particular design project was the one that first caught our eye for its ultra-romantic vibe and wonderful use of trelliage. (Read more about our love of trelliage here.) Created for Holiday House NYC, the idea for the designer’s fourth-floor bedroom of the Upper East Side Townhouse began with the idea of an English rose garden. Okin worked with de Gournay, (another of our favourites), to create a custom trellis pattern that evokes an enchanted indoor garden. The result, of course, is pure romance.
Okin’s other projects include the New York offices for Goop and Maisonette, a full floor apartment at the Four Seasons in Tribeca, two separate three bedroom lofts in Tribeca, a gut renovation of a pre-war Upper East Side three bedroom apartment in a landmarked building, and a penthouse in a Brooklyn new development. She is also a contributing writer for Vogue.com, Architectural Digest and Domino Magazine.
