Interior designer Marta Chrapka blends together French style with Polish aesthetics in this prewar apartment belonging to a Francophile writer and his partner in the centre of Warsaw, Poland. The apartment, in a neoclassical building built in 1931
 by architect Feliks Michalski, needed to be gutted and reconfigured. Warm herringbone floors and elegant boiserie were added to create a perfect French backdrop for Italian light fixtures and mid-century teak furniture, William Morris wallpaper, marble, and even a quirky (yet chic) brass Rhubarb lamp in a perfect blend of old and new…
