WE DISCOVERED THIS WEEKEND that one of our old favourite brunch spots has opened a second location closer to the city centre and we’re excited to try it. The man who owns it is actually also from Britain (married to a Spaniard, I think), and this interesting new development has us also dreaming of far-away things like opening our own café/brunch place in the neighbourhood, and imagining the things that we would serve: flakey croissants and strong coffee and a myriad of other delectable things. It would be all gold and marble, candlelight and chandeliers, cosy and comfortable and the kind of place that’s perfect for wiling away a little time in the city. One of the other dreams that we had was to move to the countryside and buy a vineyard and make our own cava, but the brunch café sounds a little more realistic as far as dreams go …
