Singapore-born Violante Visconti di Modrone, an actress and set decorator, and Production Designer Samuel Deshors decorated the villa as a ‘place rich in history’, filled with heritage furniture for a well-traveled family. Visconti chose a series of Japanese paintings for the living room, an Empire banquette, Persian carpets for the floors, and Dedar fabric for the sofas and armchairs, curtains and tablecloths. The faded scarlet sofa and the small cameos of Lombard kings in the office balance the XVIIIe gilded mirror and the library of the archeology professor, Mr. Perlman.
