Décor Inspiration: 16 Dreamy Pool Pavilions
Tuesday 26th July, 2016
by Louise Keane
If you’ve ever dreamt of sipping cocktails around a pool in the quintessential 50’s style of a Slim Aarons photograph, then you’ll need a suitably elegant pool pavilion to provide the perfect backdrop.
Whether Palladian-inspired with columns or with a hint of Chinese Chippendale style, it will be open to the warm summer breezes but will preferably also feature an outdoor fireplace for those glamorous evening soirées.
It should be decorated with furniture and clever fabrics that ooze elegance whilst being designed to withstand outdoor living—rattan furniture is a perfect choice with equal parts practicality and style. A rattan or chinoiserie-style bar cart would complete the look.
And if your pool pavilion happens to be pink, then I’d say you’re ready for your photoshoot . . . —Louise

Louise Keane grew up beside the sea in Dublin, inspiring a life-long love of the coast. She studied French and History of Art & Architecture in Trinity College in Dublin before moving to London to work first in publishing and then in Marketing & PR. After a move to Edinburgh, she decided to heed a creative urge which had been tugging at her sleeve for a number of years, and she retrained as an interior designer. While studying interior design, Louise discovered a love of pen and ink with watercolour illustration, which she now does alongside her interior design work. Louise runs her interior design company, Amalfi White Living, which offers her clients a fresh, elegant style, mixing vintage and modern pieces for a luxurious yet relaxed look. She dreams of renovating a white house by the sea.
