THE THEME FOR ELIE SAAB’S latest couture collection was a turn-of-the-last-century Englishwoman’s trip to India. The result was a mix of high-neck Edwardian styles mixed with Indian pieces, and while it was a bit of a departure from the usual floaty, ethereal dresses (the inclusion of belt bags, embellished caps, lace-up boots were rather incongruous), there were still plenty of intricately beaded and sequinned gowns filled with romance, and impossibly lovely lacy little white dresses . . .
