THIS WEEK’S Places is La Borde Maison d’Hôtes, a luxury guesthouse in Burgundy, France, about two hours by car from Paris. The original château was a moated fort from the 14th century, of which only a small section remains, the rest having been built in the 16th century. Today, La Borde is an intimate guest house of only five suites, where fruits and vegetables and herbs are picked from the garden for breakfast, and other bits & pieces from the Saturday morning market nearby. Having been working so hard the past few weeks, a countryside stay in a former château would be just the thing . . .
