Whether spring or summer or any time of year–worn as a festival headpiece, embellished on a couture dress train or set as a wedding backdrop, the wonderful scent and beautiful sight of florals are the epitome of romance.
Recently, at Paris Couture Week, florals made another grand statement at the CHRISTIAN DIOR Fall 2014 collection.
Continuing an ongoing annual tradition, creative director Raf Simons, installed another mesmerising backdrop of flowers for the unveiling of his latest collection.

With salons lined floor to ceiling with panels of blooming delights, this year, a curved wall of pristine white orchids with dazzling fairly lights provided an extra sparkle to the couture pieces showcased.
What Style.com described as “an architectural abstraction of nature” perfectly complemented Simons’ most elegant collection to date. A show divided into 8 groups, Christian Dior’s Fall couture collectiontook inspiration from previous centuries, using the shapes of periodic fashion with modern tailoring.
Embroidered court jackets, soft fabrics and hints of Marie Antoinette silhouettes could be seen floating down the white marble floor.
Voluminous dresses with tapered waists, accessorised with long gloves and my favourite, pointed strappy stilettos, were aplenty that afternoon.
Adding to the lightness of the collection, creative director for Chanel Beauty and head make-up artist, Peter Phillips, created a stunning silver eye.
The front row included British actress Emma Watson, American Oscar-Winner Jennifer Lawrence and the gorgeous South African actress and face of J’adore perfume, Charlize Theron for an all around chic affair. —Anita
