AND JUST FOR FUN, and because it is the holidays and there may be tiara-wearing around here, a glimpse of Kate on the way to a reception at Buckingham Palace, recently. She and William were special guests at the Queen’s annual soirée for diplomats serving in London. It is the first time the Duchess has worn a tiara since the royal wedding. Borrowed from Queen Elizabeth the tiara was originally created for the Queen’s mother from a wedding gift she received from her husband, King George VI; it was then passed down to Princess Margaret, the Queen’s younger sister, and presumably back to the Queen herself following Princess Margaret’s death in 2002.
