AND TO END THE WEEK, a glimpse into the [pink!] 288-square-foot studio on the Upper East Side, New York, belonging to Danielle Armstrong, Design Assistant at Tilton Fenwick, who describes her style as colorful, traditional, and whimsical . . .
She makes the space work by using pieces that are multi-purpose, such as a fold-down dining table, and x-benches that can be moved around easily and be used as extra seating, as a coffee table with a tray on top, or even as a footstool.
“The set of pink-and-white dishes in my kitchen are rumored to be from the estate of the late Mrs. Brooke Astor and were an extremely generous house warming gift.”
The custom sofa and headboard are by the firm’s upholsterer, Luther Quintana.
Danielle’s favorite feature is the built-in kitchen shelves in the kitchen, “Though a custom sink skirt – which was originally made for a Hamptons Designer Showhouse – hides what’s not so pretty.”
