As you may remember, have been searching for the perfect leopard print area rug [or anything suitable for that matter] for the living room for what seems like forever now, and was not having much luck at all, when Medallion Rug Gallery arrived on the scene, offering to send along a selection from their vast array of beautiful handmade area rugs.
There were so many to choose from — Persian, Chinese, and Tibetan, new or antique — but in the end, fell utterly in love with this exquisite antique palest pink wool hand-knotted one . . .
. . . and was completely swept away by the romance of dusky hue and elegant floral flourishes, and knew at once that it would be perfect intermingled with the gilded wall scones and marble fireplace of the living room.
When the area rug arrived, it was enormous [who was to know that 13′ x 13′ was such a grand size?], and weighed an astonishing sixty-six pounds, much to the dismay of our delivery man. Fortunately, the living room is large, and the rug perfectly, casting the most enchantingly romantic and pinkish light around the room when the late-summer sun streams through the windows.
Leopard print desires have been quelled for the moment, although do have an eye now on a snow leopard one for beneath the library table . . .
