ONE LOOK THROUGH our Décor Archives and you will notice immediately that there are very few contemporary interiors and a thorough fondness for maximalism. We've always favoured traditional or new traditional styles to anything modern, being drawn instead, to ornamentation―gilded mirrors and chandeliers, toile and boiserie and crown canopies. The closest we've ever ventured to the modern or minimal is ornate austerity.
The piano classes on the third floor of my building have started again, the terraces on my street are open again and the streets are filled again with everybody going back at work. And while I love Paris with its endless beauty and inspiration, this summer, I fell in love even more with the South of France, which showed me again that a peaceful and relaxed lifestyle changes the quality of life...
Binki’s new eclectic indie-rap single “Wiggle” makes its much anticipated premiere today. His knack for smooth basslines wrapped (pun intended) in authentic lyrics made for much buzz in the underground community and “Wiggle”, the appropriately named release, delivered. Following this single, binki plans to drop a new song every month until the end of the year.

Traditionally, I have not been a Tycho fan. I’ve often found Scott Hansen’s music to be the sonic equivalent of a screensaver, a form of ambient Muzak fit for little else besides zoning out while completing a mindless task. “Easy,” the single he released last month, was that kind of song. I didn’t like it.

There is a restaurant in the 8th arrondissement in Paris, Noto, that I always wanted to tell you about. Haven’t had the chance to try it yet, but I really want to go, as I recently visited the small town of the same name, in Sicily, a polished city with beautiful palaces.

PARIS - You may not know David Jimenez, but it's certain you'll know his work, for he has played a major part in developing the very specific aesthetics of Pottery Barn, Restoration Hardware and Williams Sonoma.
