With performances racked up beside Grimes, The xx and Battles, GIUNGLA’s (aka Ema Drei) propulsive modus operandi sports an all-encompassing gloss. It’s bolstered on her recent singles by the production acumen of Luke Smith, known for his work with Foals and Depeche Mode, amongst others.
Beck has released a new song, “Everlasting Nothing,” from his upcoming album Hyperspace. It’s the fifth single from the project, following “Saw Lightning,” “Hyperlife,” “Uneventful Days,” and “Dark Places,” all of which were written in collaboration with Pharrell.
Beck has announced the release date for his fourteenth studio album, Hyperspace, and also dropped two brand new singles. The album arrives November 22, and the new songs, “Hyperlife” and “Uneventful Days,” are both available to stream now.
Beck’s masterpiece Odelay turns 20 in a couple of weeks, and with his new single “Wow,” Beck sounds like he’s returning to that album’s sound. More specifically, Beck has somehow come up with a 2016 version of the bemused surrealist funk of Odelay.
