Just outside of Paris, there is a 17th-century château that sits on a 280-acre estate. Château de Wideville, as it is known, belongs to renown fashion designer Valentino Garavani, who has owned the eight-bedroom château since 1995.

Happened across Jenny Wolf's apartment in Vogue by way of Instagram and in just the three slide images she posted, immediately needed to see the rest of the space. The former Ralph Lauren employee turned interior designer found the Cobble Hill townhouse, which was built in the 1800s, in good condition, but embarked on a full-scale renovation nonetheless to modernise the space. The pink tufted sofa is clearly the showpiece in the living room, bringing colour and whimsy to a black and white palette. Other charming features include a master bedroom with a wallpapered ceiling, and a palette of pink of black for daughter Lili's room. Scroll through for a glimpse of this ultra-chic space ...
THIS WEEKEND, P HAD THE perfect idea for a picnic at the beach. It is wonderfully fortunate to live in a city that sits on the coast, with the sea just three miles from our place.
ONE OF THE VERY FAVOURITE childhood homes I grew up in had a powder room that was known as “the blue bathroom”, for its pale blue decor palette. But what I remember most about that room, was that it had double sinks that were each shaped like seashells.
I have been collecting cut glass and crystal trinket boxes for as long as I can remember, from antique shops in small seaside towns and Saturday morning auctions, and sometimes, rare charity shop finds -- French cut crystal with golden hinges and in perfect condition. Sprinkled all over the house, they are useful for holding paper clips and thumbtacks on the desk, matchboxes on coffee tables and bookcases, hairpins and lipgloss in the powder room and rings and things on the vanity. They all add instant glamour with their glittery faceted reflections, French crystal catching the light on a Monday morning. Their uses are endless. Here, we've rounded a few inspirational ways to use these beautiful pieces from a time gone by, and you can shop our brand new selection at thisisglamorous.com/shop ...

ON SUNDAY we packed a wicker basket filled with baguettes, cheeses, jamón ibérico, pâté and something fizzy to drink and went to the gardens to lounge away a beautiful day in the sun. We found a perfect spot nestled amongst trees grouped in circular pattens, forming small open spaces in their midst that beckoned the laying down of a blanket and the kicking off of one's shoes to feel soft grass on bare feet. Since most of our picnics occur at the seaside, this one was a lovely change, the rustling of the leaves and the sound of cicadas intermingling in the late-afternoon air heavy with the scent of blossoms and dreams. It was a perfect way to spend a summer's day.
IT IS A MILLION DEGREES lately, and we’ve been eating watermelon for breakfast and gazpacho for lunch in an attempt to cool down, in addition to the many sunlit dates on terraces, the only civilized way to endure the heat. The city is emptying out as it does every August, and the evenings have already begun to get quiet.
THESE DAYS IT SEEMS LIKE there are never enough hours. While it would seem that the height of summer would be a time for slowing things down, here, things are whirling by faster than ever. We are in the midst of a few enormous projects as well as finishing up a few past ones, with new ones still to come before summer’s end. There are still trips to plan and family to visit and a million and one other things to complete. Through it all, we’re still finding time for walks in the lush and green palm tree lined parks, and for tasting new pasta recipes and for drinks in the sun. (And to P, now more than ever, there’s no one else I’d rather share, well, everything with.)
This week’s links include a new Italian restaurant in Paris and a beautiful space by Templeton Architecture; a recipe for Rosé Alfredo, a beachside Portuguese retreat and much, much more …
