Soft Light, Bare Skin

What I’ve been reaching for lately (and why it’s working)

I’ve always been very open about my curiously laid-back approach to skincare. When it comes to make-up, yes, I have it all and do it all. But when it comes to skincare, I am known for keeping things simple. I’ve never had Botox, never had any injections of any kind, never had a facial or microdermabrasion or any such treatments – my full lips are natural. But here are the things I do: I never go to bed without washing every last bit of make-up off; I sleep with a silk pillowcase; and, last July, I told you about a new routine I added to my mornings: ZiiP Halo 2.0.

In all this time, I wasn’t always diligent with the routine – that is, until four months ago, when I finally committed to it at the start of the year. I now use the ZiiP every day, with Wednesdays and Saturdays as rest days. I promised to report back after six weeks, but it’s taken a little longer than that, and better late than never? What I can tell you is that after using this device religiously all this time, my skin does appear smoother and, most noticeably, my jawline looks more contoured and tighter.

If I were to order this device now, I would most likely opt for the limited-edition Superior Set with the Golden Gel. As I mentioned before, I have the 2.0 version, which came with three gels – silver, golden, and crystal – and after trying all of them, the Golden is my current favourite.

And if you ever run out of Ziip’s conductive gels, I wrote an article a while back on the best alternatives you can use with your device.
