The March Moodboard

A Few Beautiful Things for Spring

There is a certain romance to the Month of March  despite its many gloomy days, when the sun does come out, like today, it’s glorious and warm and golden and carries with it a different kind of optimism than the other winter months. For it is March that brings about winter’s final end. And it is in this month, when dressing, for the first time, one stops reaching for things out of habit and starts noticing what actually holds your attention. A pair of jeans that sit exactly where they should. A sheer knit that doesn’t quite make sense for the weather, but you wear it anyway – not to signal anything, but just because it feels right for the moment. There’s less layering for the sake of it, less styling. Pieces stand more on their own now: a silk short with nothing overly considered around it; a sandal that feels slightly premature. A bag that does all the work. It’s also the time of small refusals – no more heavy fabrics, nothing too finished, too polished. Even interiors start to reflect that – things pulled back, spaced out, a lamp left on longer than necessary, just for how it changes the room. March is when taste feels most personal, because you’re not dressing for a season – you’re dressing in between definitions.
