THIS BANK HOLIDAY weekend we saw The Batman. We’re not normally into superhero films, but this one is with Robert Pattinson, so we made an exception. It was really long⏤nearly three hours! And maybe a little on the slow side? It began very promisingly with the gritty cityscape and a voiceover and Nirvana’s Something in the Way drifting through the air but then lost its way. But Pattinson is good and Zoë Kravitz was a nice surprise. In other news, I am on a Twitter detox for a week, beginning yesterday and considering making it a permanent thing if I find not having it better than having it. It’s definitely not essential for work, and it all goes back to essentialism in the end⏤which reminds me⏤I still need to write a review for that book I told you about not too long ago. This week is busy and we’re away for a part of it. It’s technically a short week, but with this job, the lines are blurred between work and play. I was listening to a podcast on Thursday morning of last week about how there is no longer a distinction between online life and real life. It’s all the same. It’s all just life.
This week’s links include the best classic movies of all time and layered silk-chiffon dresses for summer days; 21 Italian recipes to master; a great renovation; hot pink at the office, and much, much more.
