There was something familiar and warm, freshness and cheerfulness, but also a lightness and harmony in the air in Saint-Tropez. Chic people walking around with raffia bags at the Sunday market, bougainvillea surrounding windows all over the city, pines and cypress, and the endless singing of cicadas.
Plage de Pampelonne in Saint-Tropez is classified as a “remarkable natural space,” with environmental regulations passed by the Ramatuelle mayor in 2015. The idea is to preserve the beach’s dunes and natural flora. There are incredible beach clubs to go to while in Saint-Tropez. Here are three of the most chic places to visit…

Offering a menu with casual sun-drenched, family-style dishes from France and the Italian Riviera (antipasti, salads, raw vegetables, pizzas and pasta, grilled meats and fish), Loulou à Ramatuelle is a collaboration between Jean-Philippe Cartier (the head of the H8 Collection Hotels) and Laurent de Gourcuff and Gérard Malafosse, the partners with whom he already manages Saint-Tropez’s Hotel Ermitage, and Loulou in Paris, which I’ve told you about before.

“Since the 1960s, Byblos has hosted all the greatest stars and international jet set that have passed through the French Riviera. The hotel was frequented by Brigitte Bardot and Mick and Bianca Jagger stayed there during their Saint-Tropez wedding.” (Vogue)
“Thanks to its natural beauty, Byblos Beach Ramatuelle is a truly exceptional site and is totally geared to reducing its ecological footprint. The entire structure can be dismantled at will, being made of whitened wooden weatherboarding, providing a throwback to the hulls of old sailing ships, thus making it a real statement of ecoresponsibility.” (Saint-Tropez Tourisme)

“La Réserve Ramatuelle, designed by Philippe Starck, overlooks one of the most beautiful bays on the Côte d’Azur, with a spectacular view over the endless sea, a vast private estate nestled in the Provence garrigue (Mediterranean scrubland), lulled by the sound of cicadas.” (Traveller Made)
“The restaurant prides itself in simple and fresh Southern French cuisine: Barbeques, fish of the day, seasonal vegetables…” (Vogue)
