TIME HAS a strange way of stretching and compressing these days. After missing last week’s Weekend Links, it feels like an eternity has passed—the days bleeding into one another like mascara in the rain. The autumn darkness creeps in earlier and earlier, drawing us indoors where we find ourselves favouring soup: turmeric and spinach leaves; white beans and ribbons of dark kale; and this weekend’s masterpiece—French onion, topped with thick slices of sourdough slathered in melted Gruyère. These shorter days might carry a hint of melancholy, but they’ve brought their own kind of magic. Perhaps the season is best spent slowing down, cocooned by comfort food and candle light, as the world outside grows darker and colder.

At our weekly newsletter, I published Our Favourite Pinterest Trends of the Past Year, which includes the chic return of blue eye shadow; sleek and sophisticated stainless steel; eclectic kitschy kitchens, and cafécore. There is also a Holiday Gift Guide (for paid subscribers), and three new gift guides for the year here at TIG. This week’s links include a DIY custom walnut coffee bar, and 6 science-backed changes to protect your skin; cosy alpaca throws for winter days, the allure of the late 90s in NYC, and much, much more.

xo,
