LAST WEEK, we revelled in what might have been the final beautiful days of summer. We basked outdoors, perhaps for the last time this year, as autumn has officially arrived and the weather seems to have followed suit. We have been away for a week now, but the pattern of our days seems to have finally fallen into a rhythm, perfect for getting things done, especially work, which we’ve admittedly fallen impossibly behind on over the past month or so. As such, there was no Sunday Letter this weekend, but P has resurrected his excellent Playlist, which ran from 2014 and faded sometime during the pandemic in 2020. You can listen to the first instalment here. This Saturday, I published the second instalment of my London Recommendations (for Paid Subscribers), and as I mentioned on Instagram, I spent far too much time on it, carefully composing each poetic thought and moody musing about the city. This edition looks at the best time to travel; London during the holidays; favourite street food halls and markets; a cosy pub in Paddington that only locals know; personal introspections on the city we call home, and more. You can read it here. We’re currently working on a design refresh for the TIG homepage, as well as something brand new for Belgrave, a new page, so to speak. This year has been one of many changes, with more to come, but in the words of Lao Tzu, “If you do not change direction, you might end up where you are heading.” Hope your week has been off to a beautiful start.
This week’s links include the trend of the Morning Shed and the endless quest to be perfect; beautiful mural wallpaper for the bedroom and the jeans and jumpers on our list for autumn days; thoughts on empathy and meaningful phone conversations, and much, much more.
