RECENTLY finished reading Susan Sontag’s essay, “The Double Standard Of Aging” (1972) and found it very enlightening. Made a lot of notes, some of which I’ll share in an upcoming article, but mostly, thought for a long time about her ideas on the subject, and what it it means to be a woman in today’s society. Sontag’s work served also as inspiration (along with many other books and articles) for my essay published last week for our paid subscribers. I know that we have been neglecting this space lately due to our spending more time at Substack as we get it launched, but we’re working on a few new stories that will published here soon, promise. All the magnolia trees in our neighbourhood are in bloom and there are big pale pink blossoms everywhere and it’s beautiful. Still a little chilly though, but I’m always cold, so you can’t go by what I tell you. I can not wait to put away my giant coat and get out my Burberry trench again. This winter felt like a million years long and summers in London are amazing (so warm, so many outdoor terraces), so it all can’t come soon enough…

This week’s links include the 25 best museums in London, and Kelly Wearstler’s restored 1950s Malibu surf shack; stripes and ballerina flats for spring, and much, much more.

xo,
