THE WEATHER has suddenly turned cold after last week’s unseasonably warm days. Unfortunately, because of our location, we were unable to view this weekend’s spectacular celestial event: the ring of fire annular solar eclipse. Did you see it? It was apparently visible from parts of the US, Mexico and in South and Central America. I have this thing where I feel like I need to at least try to see every celestial event⏤rare asteroids and eclipses⏤and yet somehow always manage to miss them. P says that it’s FOMO and it’s true. I’ve been feeling wistful lately, something that always happens at this time of year, first, because it’s autumn, and second, because there is only one and a half months left of this year. Ever since the pandemic, it feels like time has been moving faster and faster. (Think I spoke with you about this before.) Last week I watched the 1985 film A Room With a View during cardio and it was spectacular. There was a song playing in the opening credits that caught me off-guard because it was so beautiful and I found myself tearing up, before the film even began. Found out later that it was Maria Callas performing O Mio Babbino Caro, so then it all made sense.
