THIS WEEK’S DÉCOR inspiration is furniture seller-turned-interior designer Juniper Tedhams’s Chelsea townhouse, located in the lower two floors of an Italianate-style building dating back to the 1850s. The ground floor used to be her shop, then her interior design office. Tedhams, an antique furniture seller with a fine arts degree kept the original mouldings and fireplaces and restored the timber floorboards. Her lifelong love of antiques lead to the wooden chandeliers and antique stone trough in the downstairs bathroom, as well as the 1950s French furniture and pottery, collected over the past 15 years. There’s a strange tension between the spare and the ornate that’s very compelling and a calmness that exudes from the mixture of materials⏤ceramic and wicker, steel and warm wood.
