EVER SINCE Edinburgh, we have been off our routines—the workouts, the cardio sessions on the exercise bike, the daily countryside walks. Summer might have something to do with that as well, but it has been a while now that we’ve not been able to keep all of our Monday, Wednesday, Friday workout commitments. I had thought today might be a start, but in truth, perhaps nothing will be back to normal until September. (Can you believe that it is already nearly mid-August?) Currently in the middle of two books—one on personal effectiveness, and the other, written by the former Governor of the Bank of England. I have a strange thing for books written by economists (one of my favourites is Capital in the Twenty-First Century by Thomas Piketty). This weekend was spent on local pub terraces beneath pink umbrellas to catch the last glimpses of summer sunshine before the forecast takes another turn. There is a languidness to these midsummer days, a pace that seems to slow everything down with it. We’re currently working on a few new projects and designs that will perhaps move along more quickly when the air gets crisp again in the fall…
This week’s links include a stunning Paris apartment and high waist linen trousers for summer days; the best road trips in Italy; bamboo utensils for the kitchen, and much, much more.
