Have been the luckiest person to have a few sunny days away in Biarritz in this rainy month of May, where the Atlantic Ocean offered me a few days of good waves, enough to get the taste of what surfing is about and how it makes you feel. Though it was mostly cloudy while in the water, I did managed to get my face burnt by the sun (even though I used SPF 50). Since I’ve been back in Paris, my full attention has been on helping my skin recover. Have been using lots of lotions and potions to achieve this goal, but only a few have made a difference, so I thought it might a good idea to share these with you since summer is around the corner (hopefully).

Biafine
The star of French pharmacies, Biafine is used both as a moisturiser and medication. The cream contains ingredients like trolamine and sodium alginate, promotes healing of damaged skin by recruiting macrophages. Macrophages are white blood cells that help with wound healing, so the more of them you have at a particular skin site, the faster the process can happen. Biafine Cream Emulsion works on everything from wounds to dermatitis to first- and second-degree burns. It is often used after procedures on the face such as chemical peels and laser treatments to help with healing,” according to Dr. King, a board-certified dermatologist who specialises in medical and cosmetic dermatology.
