THE COLD HAS suddenly returned and it’s not easy going back to brisk temperatures after having so many bright and warm spring days. The daffodils are fading and it’s still technically the long weekend, but we’ve decided to spend some time back at work after a rather eventful few day of too much of everything. The sofa I ordered four months ago arrives on Wednesday and it’s been so long, I hope I still love it after all this time. I barely remember what it’s supposed to look like, but there is a space in the living room in front of the fireplace waiting for it, as well as two Sanderson chintz throw cushions that were ordered nearly a lifetime ago. Next Monday we will be able to have drinks on pub terraces and beer gardens, so hopefully things warm up again by then, and we’ll also be able to visit hair salons and shops. It’s been so long that all of these things feel completely foreign and perhaps even a little frightening. I told my friend Jenny that I’m afraid that perhaps I’ve become too feral now to ever mix in public normally again. I have a week to polish up my interpersonal skills and try to behave like a normal human again. Hope you had/are having a wonderful weekend and that it’s beautiful where you are.
This week’s links include cotton crochet cardigans and gold pearl drop earrings; basket bags and banana bread and much, much more.
