IT WAS A LOCAL holiday today, with fireworks last night (which we were able to see from our back terrace) and a parade and helicopters circling all day, and people coming and going despite the crisp temperatures and intermittent October rain. For us, it was work, work (cosy in the office by candlelight) having spent the weekend and Monday off on a much-deserved break. Early October is a funny time, for it is much too soon to think about the holidays, and yet it also feels like the end of the year…
This week’s links include a magical 18th-century home and a recipe for fresh oysters with dill vinaigrette & pecorino; pink glass tumblrs and gold flatware; gold pearl hoops and creme cable knit sweaters, and much, much more.
