Introducing the work of Danish Fashion Designer Cecilie Bahnsen
WE’RE MORE THAN a bit obsessed with Copenhagen-based LVMH Prize finalist Cecilie Bahnsen. Evidence of the designer’s time spent working for Erdem and John Galliano can be seen in her own collections, which are works of art, blending couture craftsmanship and voluminous, sculptural silhouettes, as well as the minimalist aesthetic of her Danish heritage. Each is made by hand using traditional techniques, intricate detailing and uniquely designed fabrics to create “a timeless expression of modern femininity”.
The Royal College of Art graduate’s collection of elegant dresses and sophisticated separates are whimsical and sculptural at once, filled with delicate detail and inspired by modern art, design and traditional weaving and embroidery techniques.
