Ithaca, New York
Ithica is located in upstate New York in the Finger Lakes region on the southern shores of Lake Cayuga. Ithica could be classified as a college town, being home to Ivy League school Cornell University and thus benefits from a highly educated population. With a small population of 30,000 Ithica offers much more than typical cities of this size: independent cinemas, an excellent farmers market, many international dining options, hiking, sailing, gyms and access to nearby vineyards to name a few. With Svante Myrick, the city has elected one of youngest mayors in US history at the age of 29. His progressive strategies for tackling the city’s issues has included regenerating the downtown and generally promoting a great place to live.
