WE HAVE ALWAYS ADORED the style of W magazine contributing fashion editor Giovanna Battaglia, but this weekend, she surpassed all of our expectations with her insanely chic wedding to Swedish real estate impresario, Oscar Engelbert, in Capri. The extravagant ceremony took place this past Friday and continued for days and even included a luxe disco barge in the middle of the sea. With Anna Dello Russo, editor-at-large and creative consultant for Vogue Japan, as one of the bridesmaids and guests that included fashion designer Giambattista Valli, model Natasha Poly and Net-a-Porter founder Natalie Massenet, it could not be anything but chic. The bride wore a frothy Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen wedding gown with a fairytale-worthy train, as well as a custom Azzedine Alaïa gown with a feathered skirt and Aquazzura shoes for the rehearsal dinner the night before, and a Giambattista Valli party dress for dancing following the ceremony. It was, without a doubt, and event to remember, and quite possibly the wedding of the season . . .
