It’s good to be back on track. Some great tunes this week, including new work long overdue from Ratatat and the excellent “We Used to Dance” from the Noah Baumbach film, While We’re Young, scored by James Murphy. Haven’t had a chance to catch up with this film yet, but hopefully will have a chance this week. -P
Day Wave (Jackson Phillips) has released a few independent tracks over the last year and has been steadily establishing a following. Here is the single “Drag”, an interesting mix with introspective lyrics and a surf pop sound.
New York indie electro rock duo, Ratatat, are back with a new track, “Cream On Chrome”, their first release in 5 years. Look out for their fifth studio album out later this year.
Puerto Rican hip hop artist, Audri Nix, drops some vocals over 18+‘s cult track from last year’s “The Crow“.
James Murphy of LCD Soundsystem scored the music to the new Noah Baumbach film, While We’re Young. The soundtrack is an interesting mix of artists including David Bowie and Paul McCartney but our favourite is ” We Used to Dance” by Murphy himself.
Hudson Mohawk debuted a new track, “Ryders”, from his upcoming album Lantern due out this June. The track samples DJ Rogers’ 1973 release, ” Watch Out For The Riders“, and is reminiscent of some of the work HM has produced with Kanye West.
