THE PALE LILAC SILK TAFFETA CURTAINS and perfectly pink chair were the first to catch our eye in the Djurgårdsstaden, Sweden home of Caroline Endre. Of course, then there was the glittering chandelier (which once hung in Endre’s childhood home), the checked chair, the hand-made tiles from Gysinge, toile wallpaper and matte Carrara . . .
And if that were not enough, Djurgårdsstaden, where the two-story Scandinavian home is located, on the island of Djurgården in Stockholm, has views of quaint rooftops and orchards, white jetty boats gliding alongside Finland ferries, as well as glimpses of Södermalm, Old Town and Blasieholmen, and Skansen from the other side.
