THIS HOME, RECENTLY FEATURED on Architectural Digest España, reminds quite a bit of the work of Christine Dovey, for its heavy focus on modern art. It is, in fact, the work of Julie Hillman Design, New York, whose signature is best described as MODERN ECLECTIC DESIGN.
A graduate of Parsons School of Design, Hillman spent 10 years as a fashion designer before turning to interior design. Her designs are often a mixture of antiques and modern works, rich fabrics and comfortable furnishings, heavily influenced by French decorative arts & architecture of the 1940s and 50s. One of the firm’s strongest design elements is the placement of “contrasting pieces within the same environment in order to create a unique aesthetic.”
{p.s.} more interior designers & more décor
