THE BEAUTIFUL WORK of Christine Dovey has been featured here before, most recently her stunning chandelier & Carrara Toronto home, but she has completely outdone herself with this Before & After: amazing, AMAZING pale pink mouldings & wood wall panelling, striking patterned marble floors, a black herringbone brick fireplace, a palette of pink, black, white & grey–and all within an astonishing 6 weeks!–and very much along the lines of the ornate austerity that have been so in love with lately . . .
“. . . when I started this project, my grandeous dreams centered around the rather fabulous idea of creating an elegant and refined room befitting of my client’s amazing square grand piano…soaked in history and huge in both scale and presence, I knew that I needed to design a space that would allow the piano to take center stage but also give the rest of the room some sort of purpose…and of course, I wanted the place to be pretty…and by pretty, I mean: MODERN, LAYERED, EDGY and DRAMATIC.” –Christine Dovey
And now, just for fun, a quick glimpse at what the room looked like before . . .
