{hello | notes from the weekend & a few lovely links}
TO SAY THAT THE WEEKEND did not go according to plan would be an extravagant understatement. As you know, we, [P&I] take weekends very seriously around here, and instead of the countryside drives or walks along the beach, ended spending most of the day on Sunday at the hospital. There were perplexing and severe dizzy spells and headaches early Sunday morning, which lead to blood pressure and blood work and a myriad of other checks and tests and a CT scan; and after over eight long hours, everything turned out to be perfectly fine. After the exhaustion of waiting and the unknown, there was relief, and alongside, a deep, all-encompassing thankfulness for how well we had been cared for by all the doctors and nurses, and most of all, for P, who was—and has always been—by my side through everything. All’s well that ends well, and through all the waiting, there was much time for thinking and planning and dreaming, and we were together.
