After French photographer and fashion designer Hedi Slimane’s departure from the position of creative director at Saint Laurent at the end of March last year, the fashion world waited with anticipation to see what his replacement, Italian-Belgian ANTHONY VACCARELLO, would do. The latter’s résumé includes working under Karl Lagerfeld at Fendi, before launching his womenswear line in 2011, following a stint, last year, heading up both men’s and womenswear at Versace’s Versus.
This second collection for Saint Laurent (his first for the house was in October during Paris’s SS17 womenswear week) still retains his predecessor’s rock ‘n roll vibe, but adding his own stamp to the mix, with his signature femininity and glamour, and in essence, turning things in the direction of ROCK ‘N REFINED, with leather ruffles and slouchy boots encrusted in a million rhinestones, and even a diamond cable-knit sweater, which of course, was amazing. The entire collection was firmly set in 1982 and we could not be more obsessed. Scroll through for a glimpse of the collection that COOL girls everywhere will go a little crazy for …
