HAVE YOU HEARD OF Imposter Syndrome? Came across this term last week and was absolutely fascinated that there was not only such a thing, but that there was even a name for it. Imposter Syndrome is described as, “a psychological phenomenon in which people are unable to internalize their accomplishments. Despite external evidence of their competence, those with the syndrome remain convinced that they are frauds and do not deserve the success they have achieved. Proof of success is dismissed as luck, timing, or as a result of deceiving others into thinking they are more intelligent and competent than they believe themselves to be. Notably, impostor syndrome is particularly common among high-achieving women.” [1 & 2] Interesting, isn’t it? Especially that last part. It is also rather unrelated to this week’s décor inspiration, especially since no one I know suffers from this phenomenon, but I am a collector of facts and had we been catching up over coffee, it might have been one of the topics of conversation. And with that, it’s back to this week’s slideshow: 30 Images of Beautiful Interior Inspiration for the Last July Days . . .
Hope you’re having the loveliest week so far, xR
