IT IS ALWAYS LOVELY being mentioned in Lonny’s Links We Love from time to time, and last week was one of those times. It was also here that had first heard about Carolina Irving, former Design Editor at House & Garden, joining Oscar de la Renta as the new creative director of their home collection.
Irving began career at House & Garden, then moved on to work with Hamish Bowles at Vogue Living. While at Oscar de la Renta, she will continue her column at T magazine as well as her own fabric business, Carolina Irving Textiles.
Above & below, a glimpse at Irving’s Manhattan apartment, [since have been on a bohemian-eclectic streak lately], first published in Lonny in the October-November 2009 issue . . .
In her new role at Oscar de la Renta, Irving will oversee the creative direction and execution of the Oscar de la Renta Home collection, as well as Oscar de la Renta for Century furniture, the fabric and wallpaper collection with Lee Jofa, and the rug collection with Elson & Company. She follows Miles Redd, who held the position for the past ten years, and who recently resigned to focus on his interior design business.
