Behind the scenes at Roberto Cavalli’s S/S 2014 show were visions of silver screen sirens from the 1930s in backless bias-cut gowns, Art Deco caftans faintly swaying on the slender shoulders of impossibly beguiling women, and elegant white stoles draped over heavily-embellished and shimmering gowns, as if reflecting the spellbinding charm and allure that icons like Veronica Lake seemed to naturally possess . . .
And just as collections were becoming minimalistic, Cavalli brings back a perfect lavishness from an era of lithe goddesses and glistening gowns.
