It’s been three months since the last our last newsletter update, though it feels both longer and shorter than that – like most things lately. Since then, we’ve moved constantly: Scotland to England, city to city, trains and overnights and cafes that all blur together now. Glasgow, London, Stamford, Manchester. A collage of impressions.
Like so many millennials, I entered the online world through AOL Instant Messenger. I created an account one unremarkable day in the late nineteen-nineties, sitting in the basement of my childhood home at our chunky white desktop computer, which connected to the Internet via a patchy dial-up modem.
Most people credit me with the birth of the Brat Pack. That’s flattering, but not really true. What happened was, I destroyed the Brat Pack. The Brat Pack was left for dead on the night I named them in 1985.
