THERE IS SOMETHING ABOUT marble in the powder room that always elevates everything around it, adding an element of pure luxury. The material is, of course, beautiful in any room, but especially so in bathrooms, perhaps for its ability to look both clean in design and utterly glamorous at the same time. Defined as a “metamorphic rock composed of recrystallized carbonate minerals, most commonly calcite or dolomite”, the stone has been a favourite of ours for well, forever (see here & here). Whether Carrara or Calacatta or something in between, our favourite is white marble with its exquisite blue-grey veins coursing through the elegant white stone.
