Notes from the Weekend & a Few Lovely Links 14.10.22
@seanandersondesign

HAVE BEEN caught up in the fifth season of The Crown during daily cardio and then immediately googling all the of events afterward to see it they really happened. We’re not royalists by any means⏤it’s just a bit of entertainment (although this season seems to be not as good as the rest and parts of it are very nearly propaganda, which is strange). This weekend we’ve been absorbed in an all-consuming project and also making plans for the holidays and P’s been rather excited about the World Cup. We might actually have to buy a TV for it. We also have an enormous work project due just before Christmas, so things are becoming a bit hectic. We’ve been working through the latest recipe box as well, and tonight was Indian Inspired Crusted Sea Bass with Spiced Potatoes, Mustard Seed Green Beans and Zesty Mayo. It was actually really good. P made it, of course. I tried to make steamed buns on Saturday and ended up melting the steamer, burning (and ruining) the pot (it was my favourite too), and nearly set fire to the kitchen. Was reading about a fancy dim sum restaurant in the Weekend FT (the chef has two Michelin stars) and now considering a trip to London just to try the place. Last year around this time, (maybe it was in early December), we went for a few days, the first tenuous days after lockdown, and came back with Covid. Luckily it wasn’t too serious and didn’t last too long and ended up being the only time we both got it. (So far!) All of that seems like a million years ago. 2022 will go down in history as the year where time stood still and yet everything happened at once.

This week’s links include holiday inspiration (yes, it’s that time again) and the 15 best museums in London; a minimalist Catskills cabin; our chic gift boxes (only a few left), and much, much more.

xo,
