Notes from the Weekend & a Few Lovely Links 04.07.22
@thelandgardeners

HEARD ON A podcast that Napoleon hired someone to read books to him while doing mundane tasks like brushing his teeth. P listens to podcasts while shaving and cooking, and I’ve begun listening to an economics podcast while putting on makeup. I still read only books and my Kindle though⏤no audio books for me. It’s summertime, which means picnics and we had our first one recently. P is the kind of person who likes to make a big deal about what to pack for a picnic. One of our very first dates was an elaborate picnic that involved a portable barbecue. Another involved fancy sandwiches and a bottle of rosé from the local larder and for this one, our first of the summer, he made Bánh mìs and homemade gazpacho. I spent the better part of the day today at the hair salon, changing things up quite a bit. I wrote before how it never works out for me, but today, my luck might have changed. I can’t wait to show you.

This week’s links include a flower festival in Japan and a stunning estate in Barcelona; Kate Bush; a new course on Create Academy, and much, much more.
